Many years ago Pastor Randy Foster and I had the privilidge to visit with the late Rochunga Pudate. After leaving the meeting, we were both impressed by his uwavering faith in the power of God's word to do the work of in the hearts of the people who recieve it. In the 1970's Rochunga literally mailed bibles to the addresses of random people in closed countries by faith trusting God would use them to bring revival and salvation to the hearts of those who received them. His entire philosophy was that prioritizing the word of God would bring revival to the hearts of those who recieve them. As we travelled up the highway to the airport we both agreed that if we had a Bible Publishing ministry we shuld call it "Wordfirst" and that became the name of our Bible Publishing ministry.
2 Timothy 2:9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
While I believe good stewardship would include a plan to send people not just bibles to minister the gospel wherever possible, this past weekend we had a great example and testimony of the power of God's word to draw a sinner to salvation. The scriptiure is clear that we are born again "by the word of God".
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
This testimony of Brian Rinker is a powerful testimony of the power of God's word in the soil of a sensative heart.
