Shield Ceremony

It is undeniable that the official step into teenhood is a stressful one. In regards to church teens, the shift from Mighty Warriors, the oldest class in Kingdom Seekers, into the full-fledged YouGro teen class is not without complications of its own. This year, with half a dozen young people taking the plunge, the hopes and prayers for easy acclimation are more evident than in years past.

Mitchell and Jody Newland, dedicated Ministry Heads for many years now, proudly facilitated this year's Shield Ceremony, as their eldest son joined the YouGro ranks alongside his peers, all of which have been invested in by the Newlands personally. Mitchell, after giving prayerfully considered charges to the children and the church, bestowed the handcrafted gift to each child, sending them off formally with prayers and a call for the congregation to support each one continually in these incredibly important years to come.
