Starting June 24th Heartland had Vacation Bible School for 1st through 5th grade. This year the theme was "The Incredible Race". God created man as an incredible or special creation bearing His image and likeness but with great diversity worldwide and the Incredible Race took the children on a worldwide race to see just how much God loves everyone.
The races (children) started on Monday in South America, traveled to Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Each day the racers learned about different cultures, languages, foods, and games but more than that, they learned that no matter where a person lives, God loves them and God desires for them to restored into the image of God as man once was in the Garden of Eden before sin changed us.
This year Heartland's VBS had 80 children and over 45 adults making it one of the biggest VBS weeks in several years. We are so thankful that God would allow us to teach children about the wonderful love of God for them all.
The theme verse was Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
The children also memorized five other verses, one each day.
At each station the race teams were faced with challenges that tested their memorizing and their on understanding of God's word and how God has used missionaries around the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
The children also had fun learning and singing great songs that reinforced the truth of the Bible and on the final day every racer was up on the platform singing along in a grand finale'.
Thank you to all who supported VBS 2019 the Incredible Race!
