Hey did you know HBF has its own free library? I recently heard that there are several members not even aware that there is a library that they can check out books for themselves and their family.
It works pretty much like any public library. it is located down the east hall past the restrooms. It is available anytime the church is open. There is no membership costs or even late fees but you may get a call if you're really overdue.
The library has a wide variety of books available inlcuding theological and bible study books, a few DVDs, some great audio recordings and some self help and fiction as well.
To use the library just check your book out. Each book has a check out card in the back or front cover. take the check out card, stamp it with the next due date which will be three weeks from the day your check it out. they put your card in the metal basket and our librarian will file it and track your due day. When you are ready to bring it back just drop the book in the metal basket and the librarian will put it in the right place on the shelf. You do not have to re-shelf your book. There is a set of instructions on the wall about check in and check out.
All the book titles are easily located in the card catalog.
The Library has been maintained by Doris Standley since it was originally set up. She is training Kathryn Weakland to take over the responsibility of keeping the library inventory and tracking those who check books out and bring them in or should we say those who don't return them.
Go ahead and visit our library today and find the next great bible study or just get a good book to read on a variety of topics.
