Last week this time we were praying for a great service at Church in the Park. Signs were being placed around town, bounce houses ordered, food being prepared, music equipment being delivered, final touches to all the details being arranged and most importantly, prayer! God showed up and provided a perfect message with perfect weather. We rejoice in God's provision!
Missionary Stetson Planck of Verona, Italy, delivered a tremendous message on "Killing The Wolf" a play on words with a phrase used in the Italian culture. He used the "Wolf" as a metaphor for our sin nature as he preached from Romans 7:14-25. Stetson encouraged believers in the Lord Jesus Christ not to "ignore the wolf", "feed the wolf", "tempt the wolf" or try and "tame the wolf" we must apply Romans 6:6-7 and kill or crucify the wolf. What he meant by killing the wolf was reckoning our flesh indeed dead to sin because of Christ's finished work on the cross. A great exposition and lesson for each and every saint who heard the message.
Many guests from the Cass County community attended and it was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship around God's word and, of course, food. A special thanks to David Branham and his team for cooking for over 200 in attendance. In less than 24 hours we will once again be worshipping around God's word. it was great to worship with many from churches in our community. We trust you enjoyed the time with us at the park on Sunday. For those who do not already have a church home, we welcome you to join us at HBF this Sunday at 9:00 AM for Adult BIBLE Fellowships and 10:30AM worship service. We will be continuing a series called "To Know God Is To Love God". Our text will be 1 John 2:1-6 and we will be learning about The Word of God and Our Walk. We hope to see you at HBF!
