"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6
Hebrews 11 is an inspiring chapter given by God to encourage our faith. The standard of faith is Jesus, the Word of God. Jesus walked by faith from the moment of his incarnation to his last agonizing breath on the cross as he uttered, “it is finished” and then yielded up the Holy Ghost. Jesus faithfully fulfilled scripture after scripture with an impossible and supernatural precision that revealed he was indeed God. We grasp hold of truth to this very day by studying the very prophesies he fulfilled trusting in his integrity to fulfill many more that are yet to be fulfilled. Examining Jesus’ faith increases our faith.
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17
As we trust God for our next steps as individuals and a church, it’s important that we seek God’s word together. If we want to be like our Lord and the ancient saints who are logged in Hebrews 11, we must walk by faith and grow from faith to faith. Vision Conference is a great time for God to speak to us collectively and as individuals concerning out next steps of faith.
This year’s Vision Conference will be a great time! You will not want to miss one session. The conference starts now as we pray and prepare our hearts and homes, but officially it begins Sunday morning, April 8, and concludes the following Sunday as Doug Carragher challenges us on our vision for vets. Go to our website to see the schedule or grab a schedule at the church on the morning of April 8.
Don’t forget! Sunday through Wednesday, Maple City Baptist Church, Monmouth, Ill., will be caring for our children during morning and evening sessions, with a VBS-style format that will keep the kids coming back. This also means you have child care for the day sessions, so you will want to take advantage of the opportunity to hear from God that week.
I know the adversary will place obstacles in your path to growing in faith. I’m praying God will grant you the grace to overcome them and get all God has for you this week as God grows our vision of who he is and the Mission he has set before us to accomplish by faith. I’m looking forward to seeing you April 8-15.
Don’t wait until Vision Conference to walk by faith, start now and look forward with anticipation to what God has in store for you as you follow Christ by faith.
