Sunday May 26th we celebrated the steadfast faithfulness of Mark and Alicia Filer's ministry at Heartland Baptist Fellowship. They have been humble and faithful servants of God since HBF was a seed plant Bible Study of KCBT 24 years ago. Alicia was part of the Bible Study that met at Harold and Tammy Hatman's home prior to Brian joining the group. Of that pre-church plant Bible Study, the Filers are the last remaining members of Heartland Baptist Fellowship. They are moving to the Camdenton, Missouri area where Mark plans to retire in one year. God blessed them with a quick sell of their home in Harrisonville so we will only have them for a couple of weeks before they move. We pray God’s blessings over them as they embark on this next season of life. They are beloved and will be greatly missed. We are grateful for every moment we have shared and look forward to how God will bless their faithfulness in eternity.
Psalm 101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
HBF presented the Filers with a signed picture that said, “faithful” and a bouquet of flowers. After some words of thanksgiving and reflection we prayed over them as a congregation seeking the Lord’s blessing as they trust him in this next season of life. Mark and Alicia's daughter Serethenee and her husband Adam (not pictured) Thomas along with their children Ziah and Denzell remain at Heartland Baptist Fellowship. Mark and Alicia's son, Brandon, his wife Rachel and their daughter were also able to join them on the platform for the special moment.
