The Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl victory resulted in brining an estimated 1,000,000 to down town Kansas City. That is just under 1/2 of the metropolitan population of Kansas City. Before the tragic conclusion of the Chief's parade we were able to distribute 200 John and Romans about an hour before the parade began.
Pastor Bob Hall and the Word First Bible Publishing team were instrumental in quickly assembling the John and Romans on very short notice. Brianna Blowers in the HBF office also worked hard to create a Superbowl cover on very short notice after the Superbowl so we would be ready for the parade.
On the morning of Wednesday February 14th, a very small team from HBF met a few blocks from the parade route and made their way to the corner of 12th and Grand. The team broke up in two groups and prayerfully handed out John and Romans among the receptive and kind folks gathered for the parade. There were a few people who politely declined to recieve the word of God, but no one was hateful or contentious. There were some who wanted more to distribute to their relatives and friends. It was a joy to be able to have conversation and interaction with the fine football fans of Kansas City.
Unfortunately, the day of celebration was marred by the sensless murder of Lisa Lopez-Galvan and the injury of dozens of others who were shot in the crossfire of the perpatrators. By God's grace the word went forth and it will accomplishes the purposes God has intended. May we rejoice in eternity with those who made decisions that day.
