Matthew 23
In Matthew 22:41-46 Jesys stops the mouths of the Pharisees and in Matthew 23 publically warns those who will listen in his last public address of the leaven of the scribes and Pharisees. He addresses the scribes and Pharisees directly in Matthew 23:13-39 giving them the woes that will lead leave them in blindness. This is a warning that we can learn from in an inspirational context as Matthew 24 reveals the wrath that will come upon Israel because of thier blindness (Romans 9-11). The only church among the seven mentioned in Revelation 2-3 that has a concern with blindness is the church of Laodicea. May this series remind us of our need to esteem Christ's words above our own wisdom and serve him with a zeal befitting the coming King.
