Join us for our "Remembering Christ This Christmas" sermon series at Heartland Baptist Fellowship.
The Thanksgiving turkey isn't even cold before the Christmas music starts playing, "Black Friday" shopping adds dominate the media and we are whisked into a commercialized Christmas Season. With the pace of life and the intensity of mass marketing, the most precious thing about Christmas is often minimized if not all together lost. Jesus is truly the reason for the season, and we are fortunate to live in a society that recognizes the Savior of the world has come. Unfortunately, we often don't have time to reflect on the significance of Jesus' birth, life and ministry during Christmas, so we are going to take three weeks in December to do just that.
Our series will be based on the famous and familiar passage of Isaiah 9:6: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Each week we will be examining a different aspect of the first advent of Christ. We will celebrate his birth, his gift, and his governance and how that relates to our lives practically. We cannot wait to have you join us for this series which culminates on Christmas Eve morning with a special children's choir presentation and the giving away of presents to our children and youth.
We hope you and your family and friends will take this opportunity to step into a refreshing environment that prioritizes Christ over commercialism so you can experience the joy and peace of Christ this Christmas.
