What a difference a year makes! This time last year we were in a COVID crisis, this past Saturday evening July 17th thousands gathered at Kaufman Stadium to watch the Kansas City Royals fall to the Baltimore Orioles, 4-8. The Royals attempted a comeback, but it simply was not enough to pull out the win. Fortunately, the Royals were not the best things going on that evening at the "K".
After the game, Evangelist, Scott Dawson assembled all those who wanted to participate in a free concert on the east side of the stadium. After KJ-52 warmed up the crowd, Scott Dawson with Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association, preached a very clear gospel message to the hundreds to thousands gathered in the stands. I would estimate at least 50-100 people responded to the altar call and met with counselors called "encouragers" in the atrium near the exit in right field. It was a glorious time as several counselors from HBF had the opportunity to share the gospel, pray and see souls come to faith in Christ that evening at the stadium.
In addition to serious work of presenting the gospel and leading people into the will of God through the ministry of Scott Dawson, there was a lot of fun and fellowship transpiring that evening as well. Many from churches all over the metro invited friends and family to enjoy the game and hear the message. After the preaching and altar call, Zach Williams and his band performed a concert for those who stayed. It was a long Saturday night but was well worth it!
We look forward to doing this again next year. If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, join me in praying right now for the souls who trusted Christ July 17th at Kaufman Stadium. Ask the Lord to have his hand on the follow up and to guide these who have made decisions to follow Christ to good, Bible Believing Local New Testament Churches.
