The 2019 Life Issues Recovery Walk/Run took place Aug. 30, with $10,000 raised for the addicted in our community. A total of 34 adult walkers, 13 kids/youth and three runners journeyed along the 4-mile course from the Cass County Detention Center to HBF.
More than 50 volunteers helped with the event, with others coming out after the walk to participate in the after-walk festivities at HBF. The money raised came from 23 students and leaders to solicited pledges from those in the community.
God provided sunshine at just the right time with perfect weather for the event. More than 40 different businesses sponsored the event financially, with others who provided coupons and merchandise.
Steve Fleshman appreciates HBF helping with this event and supporting the ministry throughout the year.
