Heartland’s goals are simple yet comprehensive

It is God’s will that every member of Heartland know God through an intimate relationship with his word, grow through practical exercise of their faith in ministry so they can go where God sends them to make disciples and preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as they mature in his grace, mercy and love. These three simple goals are the summation of our ministry goals.

Every Christian should be learning of Christ. In Matthew 11:29 is a great invitation to the tender of heart to come and learn of the Lord Jesus Christ. HBF has practical steps every tender hearted believer can take to learn of Jesus and be filled with faith.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29

The fruit of learning of Christ should be a life lived for Christ. John 10:10 is a great promise by our Lord Jesus Christ that he as the Good Shepherd offered his life for us so we could live an abundant life in Christ. The Christian who has a fertile heart filled with the word of God will naturally grow into a fruitful child of God as the fruit of the Spirit is manifest in their life through humble service to our Lord. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

A life of faith transforms us into the very image of Christ. John 15:9 implores us to continue in the Love of the Father we have received through the Son. As we believe God and serve Him we grow in the love of God.  Just as the apostle Peter was transformed from a fisherman to a fisher of men to a shepherd, so we are changed into his image (2 Corinthians 3:18). God’s love is contagious and causes us to give freely to others the grace that has been given to us.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. John 15:9
